The MullenLowe Nova Awards reflect the diversity of work created at Central Saint Martins and highlight projects that push the boundaries of their disciplines and represent truly original creative thinking. Of the 1300 students to choose from 40 were nominated by tutors with 5 awards available; Your Chosen MullenLowe Nova Award Winner, The MullenLowe Nova Award Winner, two runners up and a Unilever Sustainability Award Winner.
I was approached by MullenLowe who asked me to create some spiked paper sculptures for their annual Nova Awards event.
Each of the sphere templates were cut out with a cutting machine then delicately handcrafted for a high finish. x23 spheres were delivered in total – x5 were placed inside the awards, x14 were scattered on tables and hung up for display and x4 larger spheres were screen printed with the brands fluorescent colours and also displayed at the event.
